All Time RH Pitcher

Christy Mathewson

Christy Mathewson

1911 - 1930

373 - 208 record, 2.56 ERA

Regarded by many as the greatest pitcher of all time, Mathewson was one of the five original members inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. He holds the franchise record for wins (373), complete games (433), shutouts (79), innings (4,771) and strikeouts (2,499). He won 20 or more games 13 times, including 4 seasons with 30-plus wins, and established a World Series mark in 1905 that will never be approached--pitching the Giants to three complete game shutout victories!
