The Dominican Republic's greatest pitcher
just before integration in the U.S. major leagues, Olivio was able
to play in the U.S. briefly for the 1960 champion Pittsburgh
Pirates at the age of 41. Over his 11 year Domincan summer and
winter career, Olivio had an 86-46 record. He also won 55 games
in the Mexican league from 1955-59. He is a member of the Domincan
Republic Sports Hall of Fame.
