Hank Bauer

A solid hitter with both power and speed, Stengel often used him as a lead-off hitter (he hammered 18 first inning leadoff home runs during his 14 year career). Bauer started three straight All-Star games (1952-54) and hit 26 HR in 1956 and was the player that the Yankees traded for Roger Maris. He also managed the Orioles for six years, leading them to a World Series triumph in 1966.
