Jorge Orta

Inadvertently involved in one of the worst umpiring calls in World Series history, Orta was ruled safe at first base by Don Denkinger--a play that replays clearly demonstrated wasn't even close. This took place in the 9th inning of Game 6 with the Cardinals a mere three outs away from the championship; Orta's run eventually allowed the Royals to tie the game and go on to win the 1985 World Series. Denkinger is still widely despised by St. Louis Cardinals fans.
