Don Larsen
Frequently a little known player shines in post season play, and Don Larsen is a prime example. Regarded as an "average" starter, Larsen achieved immortal baseball fame on October 8, 1956 when he pitched a perfect game in the fifth game of the World Series against the Brooklyn Dodgers. Not only is this the only perfect game to be hurled in the World Series, but it is the only "no hitter" of any kind recorded in post season play. |
