Relying on his sinking fast ball to become all-time Major League leader with 341 career save, Fingers was the American League MVP and Cy Young Award winner in 1981. Appeared in 16 World Series games for Oakland, winning 2 and saving 6. His number 34 was formally retired in 1993.
