| Before Berra and Bench, there was Bill Dickey, who was one of the game's best offensive catchers in the 1930's. During the great Yankee dynasty years that began in 1936, Dickey hit 20+ home runs and knocked in 100+ runs four consecutive years. His number 8 was jointly retired with Yogi Berra in 1972. |
