Rogers Hornsby

1915 - 1937

When MLB went about selecting its All Century Team, The Sporting News (long time based in St. Louis) selected an all time St. Louis Cardinals team--one that would give the all time MLB team a good contest.

Horsby batted over .400 three times and won six consecutive batting titles while playing for the Cardinals. In 1,580 games with the Redbirds, Horsby had a .359 average. He was the player-manager for their first world championship in 1926.
