All Time Cardinal Team

by Win Shares

Longtime Cardinals fan Jim Henzler, who helped the esteemed Bill James develop the new "Win Shares" system for evaluating player value, has tweaked McCarver's list and devised his own list of the five greatest Cardinals at each position, using the Win Shares formula.

Says Henzler, "I can't think of a better, less-biased statistic that tries to encapsulate the total contributions made by a given player. It may not be perfect, but it's a fantastic tool for this kind of endeavor."
