Johnny Podres

In 15-season career in which Podres compiled a 148-116 record, his supreme moments came during the 1955 World Series when he best the N.Y. Yankees 8-3 in game three and 2-0 in game 7 for Brooklyn's first championship! Podres was named the World Series MVP, and Sports Illustrated honored him as Sportsman of the Year for the feat.
